Back to Basics

Recently, I’ve gotten back into hand-made design and printing. I got some block printing stuff for Christmas and have done a little bit with it. Due to my recent obsession with Relevant Magazine, I used one of their logotypes as the content for my newest project.

So ya, that’s my new project. I’ll post later when I actually print something with it. I haven’t block printed since high school, so it’ll be an experience. Also, I’ll be ordering my screen print supplies this afternoon from SilkScreeningSupplies.com unless anyone out there has a better site I should use. I tried everywhere in Edmond, OKC, and Stillwater I could think of, but no one sells screens or any other supplies besides ink and filler. So I’m getting it online pretty quick and cheap. Hopefully it’s decent quality for a relative beginner.

So, I’ll be printing some new stuff fairly soon with both blocks and screens. I’ve got a few more blocks/stamps to work on, just gotta figure out what design I have use for creating.

I’ve also gotten back into stenciling with spray paint, and have our garage pretty full of fumes. The Relevant Street Team page got me interested in it again by providing Relevant stencils on there. That’s where I got the idea and stencil for the block print. More about Relevant’s great marketing efforts and new online community & web launch to come in its own post later this week.
