  1. Custom Typefaces: are they worth the hype?

    I have experience with this with the Sonic Sans typeface suite. I think it was a good investment vs. expensive licensed fonts that charge per-download or per-pageview. But it was difficult to make adjustments or expansions since it was done through an agency and individual, rather than in-house. We got it and had to make it work everywhere. And the team that commissioned it didn't involve the digital teams in the development. It was made for print and hero type, but not for small scale type and we had to make it work.
