Been thinking this for a long time. I've felt the pressure that once I learned some front-end code for design that I'd need to jump all the way into programming (or it was assumed that I could). And I've loved working side by side with our front-end lead on UX and UI, making decisions together because it's such a design-related role, not just engineering. Probably more design than engineering, actually - just different tools.
