Nike’s shoes are setting records, but casual runners are wearing rivals’

Fascinating reasoning behind why running stores don't sell Nikes like they sell Brooks and other ugly-as-hell shoes. I've been getting back into running this year and was curious why all the shoes at the running store were so ugly! I want to buy Nikes but felt like more serious runners looked down on them. It sounds like this is less of a quality issue and more about specialty running stores not getting prioritized by Nike anymore as they have the scale to sell direct online. So the running stores now benefit from supporting the other brands that they can get wholesale and promote a more sales-team oriented culture.
